Using the Calculator

Fracly’s keypad is split into two sections divided by a vertical amber line.

Left side — the whole number keypad

  • Digits 0–9, decimal point, and backspace
  • C clears the current entry
  • +/− flips the sign of the current value

Right side — the fraction keypad

  • Top half: numerator (top number of the fraction)
  • Bottom half: denominator (bottom number of the fraction)
  • Each half has its own 0–9 and backspace

Operator bar+, , ×, ÷, and =

  • Can be positioned at the top or bottom of the keypad (see Settings)

To enter 3 and 5/8:

  1. Tap 3 on the left keypad (whole number)
  2. Tap 5 on the upper right keypad (numerator)
  3. Tap 8 on the lower right keypad (denominator)

The display updates as you type, showing the stacked fraction in real time.

  1. Enter your first value (e.g. 3 5/8)
  2. Tap an operator (+, , ×, or ÷)
  3. Enter your second value (e.g. 2 1/4)
  4. Tap =

The result appears as a reduced mixed number.

Example: 3 5/8 + 2 1/4 = 5 7/8

If you enter a fraction where the numerator is larger than the denominator — like 0 35/8 — tapping = will normalize it automatically:

0 35/8 =4 3/8

You can enter a decimal in the whole number field. Fracly converts it to a fraction automatically.

Example: Type 9.8 in the whole field → displays as 9 4/5

Tap C to clear the current entry and start fresh. The equation tape at the top of the display shows your calculation history for the current session.

The small text above the main display shows the running equation — for example, 3 5/8 +. This lets you confirm what operation is queued before you enter the next value.
